Category #1: Research Paper Competition

Submit a research paper and abstract that pinpoints, analyzes, and provides a technical and policy related solution for the environmental issue of your choice.

Guidelines for writing the research paper:

- Research abstract less than 250 words
- Research paper up to 1200 words, excluding the cover page and references

Formatting Guidelines:

- Times New Roman
- 12 point font
- 2.0 line spacing
- 1 inch to 1.25 inch margins
- Your paper should include proper citations in either MLA , APA, or Chicago format.

Category #2: Environmental Technology Makerthon

Make a prototype. You may use any methods or materials to create the prototype. Then submit the YouTube video link (less than 3 minutes) that explains how it works.

Guidelines for Making the Prototype:

- Final product must be your original design. You have no limitations in using some or all of the following elements; programming, 3D printed parts, various sensors, mechanical components, and electrical/electronic devices.
- YouTube Demo Video (under 3 minutes): You must create and submit the link to your YouTube Demo Video of your working prototype including explanation of the following: the environmental problem you are solving, technical detail of the prototype, making process, demonstration of the finished product, and plans for further development. The length should be no longer than 3 minutes.

Submission Guidelines: Submit by September 16th, 2020 23:59 EST

The results will be announced on October 7th.
Winners will receive their certificates via email.

All research and prototype submissions must be original work and not under consideration for publication anywhere else. Any submission that is not the author or maker's original work will be disqualified and not considered for acceptance.
